Speaker: Vishal George,Chief Behavioural Scientist, Behavioural By Design.

Nudge, as coined by behavioural economist Richard Thaler and scholar Cass Sunstein, illustrates how some seemingly irrelevant psychological factors can have a big impact on how we behave.

But unlike physics or engineering, human psychology has no universal laws. We applied tools from behavioural science to navigate us in developing nudges in a safe testing environment. We cast our nets wide to identify which nudges resonate, with who, and in what context.

In this session, Vishal will share a behavioural research case-study using their pioneering Nudge Testbed platform and four evidence-based "nudges" for motivating small and medium businesses to reduce their carbon emissions.

(access to HP House is via the lifts at the back of Glassons/ Hallensteins on Lambton Quay – catch lift to level 4, walk across carpark to basement door & up to ground floor reception).
