RAEAWARDS 2021 - celebrating research effectiveness across our diverse industry

A fantastic night of celebration took place last Friday 9th April at FISH at the Hilton, Auckland.

This year we celebrated 21 years of the effectiveness awards, with the inaugural awards being held in 2000 and every two years since. After the postponement of this celebration from last year RANZ opted for a new format cocktail event with plenty of glamour on show from the sold-out crowd. We were delighted to receive an almost record number of 54 entries across 10 categories, including 4 inaugural awards. The judges agreed that the standard of entries was exceptionally high which often made their task a tough one! So congratulations to all those who put such an effort into entering, and in particular to the very deserved winners. It’s indeed a testament to the insights community that such effective and diverse work is being done.

On the night Te Radar made a welcome re-appearance as MC. He did a great and humorous job of keeping the energetic and talkative crowd under control (well almost!). Dust Palace added a further dimension with their creative and often impossible looking entertainment.

Last but not least we’d like to acknowledge and thank this year’s sponsors for their support, without their generosity RANZ would not be able to hold such events. In addition, a big thank you to our diverse team of esteemed judges (below), and to chief judge John O’Toole for overseeing the judging process. Thanks also to the RANZ team who organised the event (no small task!) especially to Ian Mills and Claire Lloyd for all their time and effort.
