RANZ Conference 2019: New Horizons is going to be focussed on the relentlessly changing landscape of the world we work and live in, and in this context, what harnessing the true power of insights means. We want to champion the new breed of insight professionals, explore the emerging and adjunct insight disciplines and look to how these contribute to commercial decision making.

Keynote speakers

We're delighted to announce keynote speaker for the RANZ 2019 Conference is Ray Poynter.

Founder of, Ray is a long-standing member of MRS and ESOMAR, and a member of the ESOMAR Council. He is the author of The Handbook of Mobile Market Research, The Handbook of Online and Social Media Research and the #IPASOCIALWORKS Guide to Measuring Not Counting, editor of the ESOMAR book 'Answers to Contemporary Market Research Questions'.



Andrew Cannon has more than 25 years of experience as a market research practitioner on both the agency and client sides and currently divides his time between running a boutique research agency in Helsinki, working as Executive Director for the GRBN, and serving as President of EFAMRO, the European Federation of Market Research Organisations. His keynote talk will focus on how to build the business impact of Insights in an evolving customer-focused business environment.



Nigel Latta has spent more than two decades trying to understand why people do the things they do, and how you can help people change the things they do. 



Carmen Vicelich is not your typical anything – a powerhouse entrepreneur who has rapidly built two multi-million-dollar, international data and technology businesses at the same time as balancing life as a wife and mother of four young children.
Data Insight uses advanced analytics to help businesses leverage data to make data driven decisions and works with industry leaders across multiple verticals including
government, utilities, telco, casino, FMCG, insurance and banking.


Duncan Stuart is a crowd favourite at RANZ conferences, so we couldn’t but help invite him back as a local keynote speaker after winning People’s Choice Award yet again in 2017.  We are waiting to see what magic Duncan cooks up for us this year - so watch this space!

  • Tickets are for TWO days including lunches, dinner and networking drinks.
  • You cannot purchase a one-day ticket, however, tickets are transferable.
  • All registrants will be issued a lanyard and this lanyard may be allocated to a colleague to attend part of the event.
  • Lanyards must be worn at all times at the event; only lanyard wearers will be given access.

Call for Rising Stars!

RANZ Social is on the hunt for rising stars of the industry, who will have the opportunity to shine at this year’s RANZ conference in August.

We are after researchers who have been in the industry for 3-7 years and are among the next generation of thought leaders.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to be involved in a slot at conference which will involve sharing and discussing their experiences, knowledge and visions for the insights industry.
Specifically we will be selecting five candidates who will make up the discussion panel along with a moderator.

If you feel like this is you and you are keen to be involved, we invite you to write a small description (200 – 500 words) of why you are a rising star and what your vision is for the industry.
