NZ Crime and Victims Survey - exploring the dark figure of crime

Tadhg and Kate both work on the analysis of the New Zealand Crime and Victims Survey, which is a nationwide, face-to-face, annual survey.

It asks 8,000 randomly selected New Zealanders aged 15 years and over, about incidents of potential crime that they experienced in New Zealand over the last 12 months.

Their presentation covers their data collection methods that achieve a strong 81% response rate, the survey methodology and its unique features, the data analysis, as well as the first and second year results and their plans for future development.

This session was presented at the 2019 RANZ Conference in Auckland.
