The Research Association of New Zealand is the professional body that represents and serves the Research and Insights industry in New Zealand. Our purpose is to champion insights genius and we have a vision to enable a smarter NZ through superior research, data, insights, knowledge, alliances and actions.

To help us achieve this we are seeking a dynamic, General Manager who will share in our vision and spearhead our rapidly changing industry by delivering to the needs of our members; Connecting, promoting and advancing the power of insights in New Zealand.

The role is a contract role for around 8-10 hours per week, and this may ebb and flow around industry events and initiatives. Working arrangements are flexible and you will be supported by a Board of Industry Professionals, a part time senior administrator and a team of industry volunteers. Leading an Industry Association is challenging as your stakeholders all have busy day jobs so you will need great communication and organisation skills and the ability to influence to get what you need.

Responsibilities of the role will be aligned to our new 2019 RANZ Strategy and include:

  • Retaining and attracting new members by broadening our membership base
  • Delivering successful events that build the profile and expertise of the industry
  • Securing sponsorship to help fund RANZ initiatives
  • Promote and advance the industry
  • Facilitate member engagement and connection
  • Liaise with the RANZ Board and management team.

Knowledge and passion for research and insights is essential. Familiarity with member organisations and governance would be ideal. You will need to have the confidence to represent the industry body with key stakeholders as well as government and media.
