A vacancy has arisen at Key Research for an experienced data analyst.

You will be an integral part of the research process and will be proficient in  providing data analysis in both SPSS and Excel.

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified and possess the ability and desire to upskill as required to keep ahead of technological requirements and advancements.

You will be a proactive problem solver with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The general purpose of the role is to provide a high level of analytical support for the preparation of quantitative research projects. This will involve the preliminary review and preparation of data and conducting analysis in line with recognised best practice and providing outputs in Excel or populated into PowerPoint templates provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Extraction and management of datasets
  • Preparation of datasets for analysis including preliminary investigation to missing or unusual values, data cleaning, recoding, verification of data quality
  • Apply remedial processes as necessary and apply weighting
  • Use of SPSS, including the use of syntax to identify, analyse and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets including the use of multivariate analysis
  • Create statistical outputs including charts and tables and presenting these in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, including interpretation of the outputs
  • Combine outputs from multiple sources including qualitative information from interviews, secondary data sources and quantitative data

The successful candidate will have:

  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the research process
  • Strong analytic, logical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytical skills and competency applying the various statistical methods used to examine research data
  • High level of proficiency with SPSS, and ability work efficiently using syntax
  • Strong expertise with Excel
  • Initiative 
  • Ability to work independently with a keen attention to detail
  • Good communication / people skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
